Consumer Price Index Rate (CPI-U) Water/Sewer Rate Increase for 2022

Lakeview, Oregon, December 6, 2021 – Notice of January 1, 2022, rate increase. This increase was approved by the Town of Lakeview Council on the 23rd day of February 2021 and allows the Town of Lakeview to increase water and wastewater rates annually. Any rate or fee adjustments will be based on the Consumer Price Index.

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers rose 5.3 percent for the 12 months ending August 2021. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures the change in prices paid by consumers for goods and services. The Town of Lakeview will increase water and wastewater rates by 5.3 percent, starting January 1, 2022. Your February 1, 2022, bill will reflect this rate increase. It is necessary that the Town of Lakeview maintains adequate operating funds and capital reserves. We are still well below the average in the state of Oregon.
