“As set forth in the Town Charter and consistent with ORS 60.381. The Town Council will declare two positions open on March 24, 2026, at the Town Council meeting. Councilor Collins and Councilor Tracy will vacate their offices at that time. The remaining Council, Sims, Wishart, and Calvin will appoint two new Town Councilors from the Town Residents who have submitted statement of interest. Statements of Interest are due by March 23 at 5pm in Town Hall. Mayor Kevin Sims will resign his position at 11:59 pm on March 31st. The remaining Council position (s) will be filled at the regularly scheduled Town Council meeting on April 14th by the lawfully designated Town Council established at the March 24th meeting. Applicants who were not selected at the March 24th meeting will be submitted again for consideration at the April 14th meeting; this is necessary due to the need to maintain a lawful seated Town Council throughout this period of leadership management change for the Town of Lakeview.”

On behalf of myself and what I believe are most of the Town residents. We want to extend our appreciation to Mayor Kevin Sims, Charley Tracy, and Marty Collins, you are true public servants who have given your time and energy to save the Town you love. This has not been easy and is not over yet, but you have guided us this far with honor, integrity and dedication. A Town can’t ask any more than that of our elected officials. I’m proud to have been part of your team. The Town of Lakeview that loves and cares about their neighbors and wants the best for this Town, thanks you for what you have done.
