Facts on Oregon Open Public Meeting Laws.

Oregon Public Meeting Law guarantees the public a right to monitor the meetings of public bodies. It does not grant the public the right to interact with the public bodies during those meetings.  The Presiding Officer may allow citizen comment within the orderly conduct of Council meetings, but the Presiding Officer has the right to deny it.  Violations of the standard of conduct published and printed on the agenda of each official proceeding of the Town Council may result in the Presiding Officer directing the offending individual to remove themselves from the proceedings or having the person removed from the proceedings.
