Members of the public desiring to address the Town Council shall sign in and must be recognized by the Mayor and/or the presiding officer for the Town Council prior to speaking.  Each person wishing to speak must adhere to the following guidelines for conduct during an official proceeding.

  1. Be first recognized by the presiding officer.Step up and speak from the podium.State your name and address for the record.Limit your comments to three minutes unless granted an extension by the presiding Council officer.Speaking to the issue of concern, personal attacks shall not be tolerated, and the Council reserves the right to remove abusive persons from the Council chambers.Please do not interrupt or cause a disruption to the conduct of Town business.Speak to the issue of concern only, do not accuse or persuade or disrespect any individual person in the course of your presentation.  If you have a personal concern about an individual, please schedule a time to come and talk to the Town Manager regarding your concerns.  PERSONAL ATTACKS OR INSULTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR DURING TOWN COUNCIL OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS AND MAY RESULT IN RESTRICTING YOUR ABILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN FUTURE OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS.
