July 26, 2023, Town Council Updates

Approval for Albertson Enterprises, Inc to fix the EMS building venting in the main meeting room and south lobby for $5,500.  Estimate Download

After a discussion about Lakeview Swimming Pool Manager and Lakeview Swim Team Board and Coaches, Council determined a need for a policy moving forward for next season.

Public Works has ordered new filters for the pool, they will order a second set before the 2024 swim season begins.

Town Council will be sending 2 public works employees to pool school to receive certification to help with keeping the pool free of algae.

Town Council will be developing a solid compensation plan to determine competitive pay for at-will positions. They will be using data compiled by the League of Oregon Cities.

July 31, 2023, Town Council Work Session

It was the consensus of the Town Council to move forward with an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) to Provide Fire Services with Lakeview Rural Fire Services, Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department, and New Pine Creek.  Draft SLFR IGA Download

A discussion was had regarding the smart meters replacement project and the upper spring lines, it was determined that Public Works, Special Projects would take a field trip to the spring lines to address any issues with fence repairs and clean up from any winter debris left from the snow melt.

Manager Meeting for the Town of Lakeview Updates

  • Pre-planning for the October Eclipse.
  • 300 smart meters have been installed.
  • The electrician will be finishing up at McDonald Park.
  • The tables will be set up with a lift reach at McDonald Park.
  • The final part of the restroom mural is underway at McDonald Park.
  • The Town has budgeted and is purchasing two (2) trucks from BLM.
  • The Round Up Banner will be installed across HWY 395.
  • Weed abatement has been completed.
  • Public Works is waiting for a lithium battery for the paint striping machine to be able to paint the curbs around the School.
  • Lumen will be at 911 setting up the new mapping platform.
  • Water conservation will be implemented again from August 1, 2023 to October 31, 2023.
